Welcome to this week's Studio Stack newsletter.

I love writing this newsletter for many reasons- one of them being the pattern recognition I get from publishing weekly. I’ve noticed that there is a lot of written content on Studios but not as much audio/ video content. I’ve also picked up on a lack of gatherings in the Studio space as compared to other industries. These can be anything from networking nights to educational webinars to demo days.

Events- whether virtual or physical- are important for the culture, connection, and support of the Venture Studio community. I encourage Studios with the bandwidth to think about hosting an open event in the next few months and let me know when you do, I’ll feature it in this newsletter!

This week, I'm thinking about Corporate Venture Building. I’ve had some great conversations lately with Studios partnering with corporates and with organizations interested in co-building with Studios.

This is a particularly relevant topic as we emerge (🤞) from the Covid era. Though the pandemic was hard and horrible on so many fronts, the one upside we can be grateful for is the acceleration of innovation. Previously, developing disruptive business models and adopting new tech was a '“nice to have” for most companies. During the pandemic, it was a mandatory adapt or die strategy. Now, we’re seeing corporates working on innovation with the urgency required to be successful.

Recently, I wrote about why corporates co-build with Studios. In the article, I break down some of the challenges faced by organizations regarding new venture creation and how the Venture Studio model is really well suited to tackle these obstacles.
