This December has been quite a month for Venture Studios as there’s been so much activity in the ecosystem. I’m currently writing a piece on trends and insights for Studios leading into 2023 and I’m loving all the insight from Studio operators (thanks to all who have contributed and helped!)
One early trend I’ll call out is the Corporate Venture Studio model, which is taking the space by storm. Corporations have taken an interest in Venture Studios in recent years and major firms have either acquired or launched internal venture builders to help empower innovation efforts and create new opportunities for growth as the economy takes a downturn and a recession looms.
There is ample opportunity for Studios to partner with corporates to become an “outsourced innovation lab” and I believe this is a better route for corporates to take initially, as building an internal Venture Studio is tricky business.
If there are any corporate leaders in the audience, just know: Studios are ready and willing to partner with you. Reach out to them directly and start a conversation - it will be the beginning of an incredible innovation journey for your firm.
